Hush Puppies!

The all-day-long nausea has now set in and I’ve spent most of my days laying on the couch when Josiah is napping and trying to not get sick.  I haven’t found my comfort food for this pregnancy yet.  With Josiah I wanted cherry Icee’s all the time. Sunday night I could not figure out what I wanted to eat for dinner.  Then it hit me, I all the sudden knew what would cure my queezy stomach…HUSH PUPPIES!  I ran downstairs and told Jed I wanted hush puppies for dinner.  And his response was, “Is that even a real food?”  I said, “No, it’s really just fried batter, but I don’t care.  That’s what I’m wanting to eat tonight.”  Well, I never made it to the local seafood restaurant, but I’m wondering if this time around I’m going to have the weird pregnant lady cravings.  I’ve been taking a B6 vitamin supplement everyday, thanks to my friend Julie, and I’m wondering if just maybe it could be helping me out?!  I’ve felt a little better the past two days, so right now I’m hopeful that this nausea won’t be lasting me till Christmas.

Fall is FUN!

I know , I know, y’all are excited to see something other than a “Wordless Wednesday” post.  Trust me, I’ve been trying to write, but for some reason our internet in our home decides to just randomly shut off, and it’s usually at the point of being ready to publish and everything that I had been working on gets lost in cyberspace.  So, I’m crossing my fingers right now and hoping this post makes it all the way to the blog.

I’ll give you an update on what has been happening in the Coppenger household over the past few weeks…

Josiah is now 8 months old (unbelieveable!) and he pretty much just wants to stand everywhere and walk around the coffee table and around the couch.  We are trying to get him interested in crawling, but he wants nothing to do with something as childish as that!  So, we’ve experienced a lot of bumps and bruises, but he is getting stonger and more determined everyday.  He eats cereal, fruit and veggies.  We are working on him feeding himself puffs-which there was some great improvements on last night.  It amazes me that everything else those little hands pick up goes straight to his mouth, but not the puff-I don’t understand?!  He also moved up to the convertible car seat.  It was impossible to buckle him into the other one, so we are promoting him early!  Congrats!

We found out the first week of October that I am pregnant with baby #2 and the due date is June 13, 2009.  Josiah will be 16 months old when his brother/sister is born.  We are so very excited and blessed to get to add to our family!  I went to the doctor last week and everything looked good and I even did the blood work all by my little lonesome self.  The lady who takes the blood remembered me and Jed from the last pregnancy.  I don’t know if this is good or bad!, but I know Jed always makes lasting impacts on the people he meets.

We have been enjoying the cooler fall temperatures and taking more walks.  This past weekend my best friend, Katie was in town and we went to a local pumpkin patch and petting zoo.  Josiah loved being surrounded by the pumpkins and banging on them.  He also loved the petting zoo, with all the animals being on his level.  I was a bit apprehensive about letting him truly pet the animals, but I think he snuck in a few quick blows to their faces.  We fed a pony and two small goats, which only the video will bring true justice to.

Jed has been busy with basketball, PhD work, and learning more about his job as Academic Advisor.  He really loves his job and is doing a great job acclimating himself.  He reads around 300-600 pages a week, and then other various books, articles, websites, blogs.  He is a busy man, but he always makes time to hang out with us.  We are so excited that his first basketball game is just around the corner-November 8.  Go Bulldogs!

I love this season and am just about ready to start playing the Christmas CD’s!  Hope to see y’all soon and we hope everyone is enjoying Fall as much as we are.

Wordless Wednesday

Wordless Wednesday

We’ve been experiencing internet difficulties at the Coppenger homestead, so sorry for the delay in posts.  This past Sunday we decided to have a photo shoot with Josiah.  Here are some of the cutest pictures of the bunch.  Hope you enjoy!
